The induction ceremony will take place Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. At halftime of the homecoming football game against Macalester College on Saturday each inductee will be introduced to the crowd.

The class of inductees hold places near or at the top of numerous Hamline all-time lists, have competed in several national meets and tournaments, and collected multiple Hamline awards during their time at the University.

2000 Gymnastics Team - NCGA Champions: The team was led by head coach Doug Byrnes in his first year at the helm of the program. The assistant coaches were Summer Ameter, Kim Wandzel, Eric Mjolsness, and Brian Ottenhoff.

The team members were Kimberly Allen, Jacqueline Banet, Melissa Bodily, Colette Davidson, Ashli Ethen, Kim Goodmanson, Linsey Hamilton, Anne Kokkinen, Melissa Nelson, Lindsay Odom, Lara O’Keefe Stanislaw, Jessica Ponczoch, Kristin Thomsen, Joanna Truchon, Aimee Witulski, and Katy Wollenschlager.

The 2000 team entered the national championship meet ranked sixth after placing second at the regional competition. Hamline used strong performances in their third and fourth rotations to defeat UW-LaCrosse for the championship. Lindsay Odom was crowned the national all-around champion to help lead the team to the title. 
 
Dan Brink '71: Dan Brink was a two-sport athlete in football and baseball at Hamline, competing in each sport for three seasons. As a pitcher on the Piper baseball team he tallied an 11-3 record over the three seasons, highlighted by a no-hitter against St. Thomas in his senior season. He posted a 5-0 record that year.

Following his career at Hamline, Brink went on to become the most successful high school boy’s basketball coach in the history of the St. Paul City Conference.

Dan Scheider '76: Dan Schneider was a three-time all-American as well as a conference record-holder while swimming for the Pipers in both individual and relay events. In his sophomore season, Schneider was the MIAC champion in the 50-yard freestyle, setting the conference record (21.9) in the process. That season marked the first of two consecutive seasons in which he placed fourth at the national championships in the 100-yard butterfly.

Schneider is still in the top ten list at Hamline in several events (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 100 butterfly, and 200 butterfly).

Richard Strohkirch '65: Richard Strohkirch was a four-year letter-winner in hockey and a member of three MIAC championship tennis teams, playing both singles and doubles, as a Piper.

Strohkirch was a member of the Hamline tennis teams that won the conference championships in 1962, 1964, and 1965. While on the hockey team, Strohkirch was the team’s leading scorer all four years.

Pam Aufderhar Tomczik '96: Pam Aufderhar Tomczik was a four-time letter-winner in both volleyball and basketball, as well as competing for a season as a track and field athlete.

Tomczik is one of the top volleyball players in Hamline history. She is currently second on Hamline’s all-time list in career digs (1723) and is sixth in career kills (1111). Two of her season dig totals (611, 598) are in Hamline’s top three all-time.

Deb Van Schooten '98: Deb Van Schooten sits atop numerous Hamline record lists after a four-year career as a member of the women’s basketball team.

Van Schooten is the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1512 career points. She also leads the school record books in all three blocks categories (game – 12, season – 93, career – 287) and is second all-time in career rebounds (985). The 12 blocked shots in a game is also an MIAC record.

Karen Bosveld Zemlin '90: Karen Bosveld Zemlin was a three-year letter-winner as a swimmer at Hamline, setting the school record that still stands in the 1000 freestyle.

Bosveld Zemlin was a three-time (1988, 1989, 1990) all-conference swimmer and a 1989 all-American. She was also a three-time honorary all-American and placed ninth in the 1650-freestyle in 1989. In addition to holding the current school record in the 1000 freestyle, Bosveld Zemlin is second all-time in the 1650-freestyle and seventh all-time in the 500-freestyle.
