All faculty and interested staff are invited to attend Faculty Development Day on January 31, 2014 which will focus on "Experiential Education as a Liberating Art." The CTL is pleased to welcome Garry Hesser, a professor of sociology at Augsburg College and former president of the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE) and the Higher Education Consortium on Urban Affairs (HECUA), as the keynote speaker and facilitator of the half-day workshop. The workshop will explore strategies to achieve meaningful integration of academic content with real-world application in courses, mentored experiences, and internships. Faculty will participate in hands-on, interactive exercises throughout the morning, and leave this workshop with a better understanding of the central role they play in helping students to synthesize the connections between theory and practice.
More information and registration is available on the CTL's News and Events Page. Deadline for registration is Tuesday, January 28. If you have any questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
