In order to be able to access Hamline's network from your location, it is a requirement to keep your operating system updated. Windows operating systems have a utility called Windows Update, that will allow you to update your OS.

On Windows XP, the Windows update page will show you two options. The first one give you the option to make an express install. The second one will give you the chance to select which updates you want to be installed in your machine. We recommend this second choice (Custom Install).
When you check in the custom install option, Windows update will check your computer to find which Critical updates are available to you.
If the scan finds any available critical update for your machine, you will have to install those updates in order to access the computer network.
To install the available critical updates, click on the link Download and Install now.
After the updates are installed, you may be required to reboot your computer
