Download and Install the Cisco Clean Access Agent

Hamline ITS requires that you download and install the Cisco Clean Access Agent (formerly the Perfigo SmartEnforcer client) before your system can be granted full access to the university network and Internet.

The Cisco Clean Access Agent is currently only available and required for Microsoft Windows desktop users.

What Is This?
The Cisco Clean Access Agent is an application that will check for known security vulnerabilities and make sure that your system is being kept up-to-date with security patches and any software updates that Hamline ITS may require. It will also check for prohibited software and services not allowed on our network. This is being done to help ensure that all devices that connect to the university network will not interfere with other legitimate network traffic.

IMPORTANT: You must have full administrative rights to your system to install the Cisco Clean Access Agent software.

Click Here to Download the Cisco Clean Access Agent for Microsoft Windows

When the "File Download" dialog box opens click the Open button to begin the installation and follow the instructions.

If you have already downloaded and installed the Cisco Clean Access Agent, be sure that the client is running by looking for its program icon in the system tray in the lower right hand corner of your screen. If it is there right click it and select Login. If you do not see its icon, please try downloading and installing the client again before contacting the ITS Helpdesk.

Logging in to the Network through the client:

When presented with the "Cisco Clean Access Agent Login Dialog" enter your Netmail/Netstorage username and password and click the Login button.

Immediately after logging in, the Cisco Clean Access Agent will perform all the checks briefly described above to determine if your system should be allowed full access to the university network and the Internet. From here one of two things will happen:

If you receive the following success message your system has passed all the tests and has been granted full access to the university network and Internet.

If your system fails one or more of the checks performed by the Cisco Clean Access Agent, you will be granted limited and temporary access to all the resources needed to update your system and meet all the requirements set forth by Hamline ITS.

Please contact the ITS Helpdesk at 651-523-2220 if you need help getting authenticated to the network.
