 Groupwise

 Changing universal password

During the month of January, ITS will be making changes to the password used to log into your Groupwise email account. Instead of having a separate password for Groupwise and Novell as is currently the case, Groupwise will use your "Hamline" password, ie your Novell password (the one you use when you first login for the day). In other words, you will only need to know one password.

This change will take effect at 8am on Monday, January 10th for the following units:
ARA, Bush Library, Information Technology Services, Provost's office, Wesley Center, Business Office, Career Development Center, Dean of Students, Physical Plant, President's Office, Student Administrative Services, University Relations

The change will take effect at 8am on Tuesday, January 11th for the rest of campus, except for the students that have Groupwise accounts. The student Groupwise accounts won't be affected by the change at this time.

If you don't know your Hamline (otherwise known as Novell) password, you can simply reset it as described in instructions on the forum at http://forum.hamlineedu/viewtopic.php?t=58 . If you don't know your password, it's probably best if you complete these steps BEFORE the switchover date to make sure that you aren't temporarily locked out of your email.

Note: If your current Groupwise password is the same as your Hamline (Novell) password (as is the case for many), you don' t need to do anything - you just log into Groupwise the same as always.
