ABOUT THE PRESENTER

PETER C. WOLK is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Trinity College, has a Master of Education degree from Harvard University in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy of nonprofit organizations, and graduated with honors from American University Law School.  Prior to law school, he directed the Living/Learning Center at Syracuse University, as well as at the University of Vermont, where he taught.

He has created, represented, taught, and advised hundreds of nonprofit organizations since graduating law school with honors in 1984.  He works with national, regional, and local nonprofit organizations of all kinds, including community charities, Internet watchdog groups, educational groups, religious organizations, higher education entities, health and environmental nonprofits, membership organizations, social welfare groups, and trade associations.

He is the Founder and Executive Director of the National Center for Nonprofit Law, a 501(c)(3) organization that conducts training seminars on a wide range of nonprofit organizational and legal topics, including nonprofit tax issues, fundraising and revenue generation issues, liability and insurance, personnel, and board of trustees issues.

He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross National Capital Chapter, and the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington and teaches Nonprofit Law and Governance at the University of Maryland, and other nonprofit law courses and seminars regularly for Montgomery College, the D.C. Bar, and various schools and nonprofit organizations.  He serves on the Washington Post Award Committee for Outstanding Nonprofit Organizational Governance and is a guest lecturer on Nonprofit Legal Formation at George Washington University Law School.
