NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION 2008 August 24-26, 2008
As you get ready to begin your life as a Hamline student, you may be excited, or even a little nervous (or both!). Either way, you probably have lots of questions.
What will Hamline be like? Who will my classmates be? Where do I eat dinner?!
The New Student Orientation Program is designed to answer all of those questions and more. It is the time we welcome you into our community and introduce you to the many people, programs and services that make up this place we call Hamline University. Oh, did we mention that it's also a lot of fun?! The 3-day Orientation Program for first-year students begins on Sunday morning, September 2 and concludes on Tuesday, September 4.
During Orientation you will:
- meet your first-year seminar (FYSEM) professor who is also your academic advisor.
- receive individual attention in small group sessions with a current Hamline student who will serve as your SOS Orientation Leader.
- receive information on a variety of student services.
- learn about campus life and explore ways to get involved.
- socialize with other new students and make new friends.
- have family members attend a planned program designed just for them.
- be introduced to academic policies and the academic support services
- Learn what it takes to be successful in the classroom..
