Statement of Purpose


The purpose of Student Affairs is to offer inclusive opportunities and diverse services that foster the development of the whole student.

Division Overview


Student Affairs Division coordinates with a variety of campus offices that provide programs and services to students.

Student Affairs has the primary responsibility for make the out-of-classroom environment an integral aspect of your education.  This is done through the work of student affairs professionals who understand the development of college students and are committed to enriching the lives of Hamline students.  This group of professionals anticipates, solves, and manages the daily activities of the students that constitute their area of responsibility in Student Affairs – Campus Life Center, consisting of Orientation and First-Year Programs, Residential Life Office, and Student Leadership and Activities; Counseling Center; Health Services; Disability Services; Multicultural and International Student Affairs; Wesley Center for Spirituality, Service and Social Justice, consisting of the Office of Service Learning and Volunteerism, Religious and Spiritual Life Office, and McVay Youth Partnership; Career Development Center, Retention and Transfer Student Services, the Bookstore; and Food Service.
