REGISTRATION DEADLINES

    • Degree & Licensure-Seeking Students

      Online Registration
Piperline closes for all degree & licensure-seeking courses the day before the start of the term.  For additional licensure courses listed in the Professional Development for Educators catalog, Piperline registration remains open through the day before the course starts.

After Piperline registration closes, a late fee of $50 is assessed for any change to registration excluding registrations/drops for: newly admitted students, half-term and/or or licensure-level courses starting after the official term start date, and changes due to canceled courses.

Registrations and/or additions may still be made to registration after online registration closes, however a paper registration form must be used. You may download a form, e-mail Student Administrative Services or contact SAS via phone at 651/523-3000.

    • Continuing Studies/Professional Development Courses

      Online Registration
Students may now register for continuing studies courses online.  You must have a Hamline ID and Piperline PIN to access the online registration system.  Click here for more specific information regarding online registration for these courses.

Piperline registration closes at midnight the day before the start date of each course individually.

CHANGE TO REGISTRATION/WITHDRAWAL

    • Degree & Licensure-Seeking Students

See the Official Academic Calendar for add/drop/withdrawal deadlines.

Instructor signature is required to add a course after the class has started.

For students who drop or withdraw from a class, the effective day of the drop is the day the completed from is returned to the Student Administrative Services office, not when the student stops attending class.

Students are required to contact SAS directly to make changes to their schedule. Contact SAS via phone, e-mail, mail or in-person to drop/withdraw from a  course.

Instructors and/or graduate school program staff may not change registration on behalf of the student.

    • Continuing Studies/Professional Development Courses  COMING SOON

TUITION ADJUSTMENTS FOR DROPPED COURSES

    • Degree & Licensure-Seeking Students

The amount of tuition owed is calculated from the date of record of the drop, not from the date the student ceases to attend class.

Students who officially drop before the deadline stated in the Official Academic Calendar will not be responsible for any tuition charges, except for the $50 late fee.

After that date, the amount of tuition owed will be calculated on an increasing scale based on the percentage of days in the term before the withdrawal date for all students.

Students who withdraw after 60 percent of the term in which their class is scheduled has passed, will be responsible for all tuition charges.

    • Continuing Studies/Professional Development Courses  COMING SOON

CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION

    • Degree & Licensure-Seeking Students

Admitted degree & licensure-seeking students should confirm registration and verify class schedules via Piperline. Paper confirmations are not sent.

    • Continuing Studies/Professional Development Courses

Letters containing Hamline ID number and Piperline PIN are mailed to Continuing Studies level students (not formally admitted to a degree or licensure program) typically within one week of registration.  Students should confirm registration and verify class schedules vial Piperline.

CROSS-SCHOOL/PROGRAM REGISTRATION

Some Hamline graduate programs allow students to register for elective or content work through a different Hamline school/program without an admission process. Check with your program office for details.

If approved by the program, students may register for the appropriate course using the Cross-School/Cross-Program Registration Form. Signatures may be required. Online registration is not available.

The tuition rate of the students' home school/program applies for all cross-registrations except MAEd, MA in ESL & MAEd:NSEE students taking their elective work through the Professional Development for Educators catalog. Tuition is the published catalog rate.
