The Federal Stafford Loan has an origination fee of up to 1.5% and a default fee of up to 1.00%.

Origination and default fees will be deducted from the proceeds of your loan. Some lenders pay a portion of these fees on behalf of the students. Please contact the lenders for more specific information or visit their Web site.

The current in-school interest rate for Staffords Loans is 6.80%. 

Loan Repayment Programs: Various loan repayment programs may reduce your interest rate during the repayment period. These programs may change or be discontinued without notice. For more information contact the lender of visit their Web site. If loans are consolidated, repayment benefits may not apply.
