Burger King Merit Scholarship – Deadline May 9, 2008
As a result of R.T. Taylor, Nate Manderfeld, Corey Hanson, Brian Call and Kris Staples being named the NCAA Division III Football Players of the Week, the Burger King Corporation has donated $65,000 to the Hamline University general scholarship fund. These men have requested that this scholarship be used to support outstanding upper-class students (junior and seniors to be) who value and excel in the extracurricular aspects of the Hamline education.
Annual winners of this renewable $500 scholarship will be identified by the Scholarship Committee based on the following criteria: 1) The quality of extracurricular activities, 2) A Résumé 3) Minimum 3.0 GPA 4) One letter of recommendation form an extracurricular activity supervisor and 5) Life values as described in an original essay, “How competitive athletics adds to one’s education.”

Open to families with a combined income of less than $30,000, this program supplements financial aid packages that fall more than $1,000 short of students’ financial needs. The Fund for Veterans' Education – Deadline June 15, 2008
The Fund for Veterans’ Education will award up to $3.5 million in 2008-09 in undergraduate scholarships for veterans returning From Iraq and Afghanistan. Marc Lalonde Prize—Deadline June 30, 2008
The Canadian Arbitration Congress (the Congress) is a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms in Canada and abroad, including research and writing in this field. The Congress decided to launch the Marc Lalonde Prize for Excellence in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration (the Marc Lalonde Prize), a prize offered to Canadian law graduates who are pursuing or have recently completed further studies related to international commercial or investment arbitration. The prize consists of CAD $5,000 to be awarded annually to the candidate who has completed a law degree at a Faculty of Law in Canada or abroad, and who wrote the paper in the last two years while enrolled in a program of graduate studies in Canada or abroad in the field of international commercial or investment arbitration. Gates Millennium Scholarship
The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS), funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding low income African American, American Indian/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Islander American*, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest. Continuing GMS Scholars may request funding for a graduate degree program in one of the following discipline areas: education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science. The goal of GMS is to promote academic excellence by providing thousands of outstanding students, who have significant financial need, the opportunity to reach their full potential. - The Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund: Created in response to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, this program provides scholarship dollars to children of those who were killed or permanently disabled in the attacks. (Deadline: ongoing)

To be eligible for the Sallie Mae Fund scholarship programs, students must be accepted and enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate at a Title IV eligible, accredited, postsecondary, two or four-year college or university, vocational or technical school in the United States or Puerto Rico, and meet program-specific eligibility requirements.

SOF Foundation, Inc. Scholarship
This is a nonprofit foundation who is motivated to impact the lives of students and encourage them to continue their educational journey. Scholarship awards up to $1,000 are available for those who qualify and meet all requirements. Students may apply online at any time during the academic year. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents, demonstrate financial need, must file FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) each year, have a minimum GPA of 2.7, and be enrolled in program leading to applicant’s desired degree, or be a high school senior planning to enter college. Access Group’s One Less Worry Law Scholarship – Deadline June 15, 2008
Access Group is asking law students to create and submit an original video of up to four minutes showing what they worry about as law students. Ten finalists’ videos will be placed on YouTube for voting by friends, family and the general public.
