Hamline University Classroom and Event Space

Hamline University has dozens of rooms on campus available for meetings and events. Check with the Conference and Event Services office regarding limitations on various sites, restricted hours, and restricted usage.

Please note the following special considerations:

Classrooms are used in their standard set-up. There is a ten minutes window between classes, meetings, and all events scheduled in a classroom space.

Drew Residence Hall Conference Room is used in the standard set-up. Time between events is determined based on whether there is catering requested for events; at least a ten minute window between meetings is required.

Manor House Main Lounge is used in standard set-up. Time between events is determined based on whether there is catering requested for events; at least a ten minute window between meetings is required.

Sorin Bailey Room requires at least one hour between meetings to allow for catering changes.

Walker Fieldhouse, Hutton Arena, Pat Paterson Fields are scheduled in cooperation with the athletic facility coordinator, Jim Rubbelke at 523-2304. Requests are forwarded from the Conference and Event Services Office for approval. Upon approval, requestors will be sent an event confirmation from the Conference and Event Services Office. Availability is based upon practice and official game/match schedules.

The Kay Fredericks Room
The Kay Fredericks room is a multi-use gathering space on the third floor of the Klas Center. This warm space has panoramic views of the Old Main Mall to the south, and the Falcon Heights/St. Paul area to the north.

Capacities for the room vary by set-up, but general numbers are 248 at rounds (sit-down meal only) and 300 theatre style (includes podium). For more information on capacities and set-up, contact the Conference and Event Services Office at 651-523-2474.

Media equipment in the Kay Fredericks Room includes a podium with microphone, lavaliere microphone, handheld cordless microphones, LCD projector, DVD/VCR, CD player, tape player and drop down screens on the south and east sides of the room.

Please note that this room requires three hours for set-up changes in order to accommodate the set-up crew, catering services, and the group reserving the space to clean-up/set-up.

Sorin Hall, Rooms A and B
Sorin Hall, Rooms A and B, are two separate meeting rooms that may be combined to provide one larger luncheon space.

The "B" side has a wall of windows that face a lovely garden and Englewood Avenue. Standard set-up is a hollow square for 40. Alternate set-ups could include rounds for up to 50 people. The room has a built in LCD projector.

The "A" side standard set-up is rounds only, due to space limitations, with a capacity of 40.

The rooms may be combined with a preferred set-up of rounds. Capacity is 125. The room has a built-in LCD projector, podium and microphone, and an overhead projector. Additional equipment available is table mics, DVD/VCR and cordless handlheld or lavaliere mics.

Two hours is needed to change set-ups and catering.

Law and Graduate Schools Building
Though available first as a classroom setting, there are a few spaces available for meetings with larger groups in the building depending on availability - however, these spaces have limited set-up options.

Room 106 can seat 99 people at round tables of nine. Standard set-up is classroom style with tables and chairs for 70 people. Two hours is needed to change set-up.

The room has a technology podium, built in LCD projector and screen.

Rooms 004 and 005 are in the garden level of the building. Standard set up for both is classroom style for 35 people. Other set-ups are available based upon class schedule. Two hours is needed to change set-ups. For more information on capacities and set-up, contact the Conference and Event Services Office at 651-523-2474.

Anne Simley Theatre
Anne Simley Theatre is a 289 seat proscenium space, with a large lobby for receptions, a small black box studio theatre, and a television theatre.

Each space may be reserved separately. Hamline community members should contact the Conference and Event Services Office for use of any of the space. Rental inquiries for the theatre and television spaces should be made directly to Bill Wallace, associate professor and chair, Communication and Theatre Arts. Sundin Music Hall
Our 315-seat Sundin Music Hall has won critical praise for its intimate, warm ambience and recording-quality acoustics. Sundin Music Hall is considered an important location for chamber music in the Twin Cities, and is also hailed as a warm and inviting space for lectures and special programs.

Hamline community members should contact Georgia Lauritzen regarding use of the space. Georgia will work with the Conference and Event Services Office to help schedule the space and then to provide additional materials or services. Georgia may be reached at 651-523-2197 or by e-mail.
