HAMLINE UNIVERSITY SAFETY AND SECURITY

Campus Safety Warning - November 4, 2004

The Department of Safety and Security would like to advise the Hamline community of some recent thefts and suspicious activity in Manor Residence Hall.

On October 29, 2004, at approximately 5 p.m., two resident students reported that they had items stolen from their room. The room had been unoccupied and unlocked at the time of the thefts.

On November 3, 2004, at approximately 9 p.m., a resident of Manor was in his room when an unknown male entered. Upon seeing the room occupied, the male fled the building out the south exterior doors near Englewood Avenue. He proceeded to quickly walk towards the Heights area. Upon noticing he was being followed, the male ducked behind one of the buildings and was last seen running east towards Pascal Street. Safety and Security searched the Heights area, but was unable to locate the male.

The suspect in this incident is described as being a white male in his early twenties, around 5’10”, thin build with longer blonde hair, no facial hair, wearing glasses, a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans. It is unknown if he is responsible for the thefts, but he is wanted for questioning about these incidents. If you see the above described male or someone matching his description, please contact the Office of Safety and Security immediately at 651-523-2100. Do not attempt to confront the suspect on your own.

The following are safety recommendations:
