On Wednesday night, October 26th, 2005, RICHARD CHARLES STEVENS, DOB: 1/25/65, 40 Years, white male, 5'8" to 5'9", 270 pounds, was observed at the Hamline/Augsburg Woman's Volleyball game.
STEVENS has a previous conviction for felony stalking. In June 2001 he pled guilty to stalking a 17 year old Henry Sibley female gymnast. In addition, between December 2000 and February 2001, he was seen at several Henry Sibley girls' gymnastic events photographing female gymnasts. As a result of the stalking convictins, he was sentenced to 12 months in the Dakota County Jail and 5 years probation, prohibiting him from attending any female atheletic events. On February 18, 2002, he was arrested for violation of his probation after he was seen at a Breck High School girls' gymnastics meet. He returned to prison, served the remainder of his sentence and was discharged May 3, 2005. He is no longer on probation or parole.
Details of the incident at Hamline University on October 26, 2005:
An Augsburg parent attending the volleyball game recognized STEVENS. The parent notified Hamline staff, STEVENS was confronted and he left campus. He reportedly was carrying a large duffle type bag that contained camera equipment.
STEVENS is not welcome on the Hamline University Campus. If he is seen, call the Office of Safety and Security immediately. He will be trespassed and ordered to leave. If he refuses to leave, returns or otherwise creates a disturbance, St. Paul Police will be called.
