Institutional Review Board Procedures

If you're planning research that will involve human subjects, you must have your proposal reviewed.  Find out how to do so here.

Surveys

The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment administers the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), the Student Satisfaction Survey, the Senior Survey, and a few other surveys that are used for overall institutional assessment.  Offices or departments wishing to conduct other surveys are free to do so*, but are responsible for administering the surveys themselves.  The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment does not provide an account or training for Survey Monkey or other software.   

*Mass emails must be approved by the Office of Marketing  Communications.  Human subjects research may need approval from the Institutional Review Board.
