VISION & MISSION
The staff of Hamline University strive for excellence in service to the university's students, faculty, fellow staff members, and the community at large. The staff play an essential role in supporting the university's mission of creating "a diverse and collaborative community of learners dedicated to the development of students' knowledge values, and skills for successful lives of leadership, scholarship, and service." The mission of the Hamline University Staff Association is to enhance the work environment and represent the interests and concerns of staff in the overall governance structure of the university.
Therefore, HUSA serves to enhance work performance by building community in the following ways:
- facilitating staff input and feedback in university policies;
- providing a voice of advocacy for staff interests;
- encouraging communication among staff, administration, faculty and students;
- promoting professional development opportunities for all staff members
- maintaining a commitment to diversity by encouraging and supporting staff development that includes diversity in all of its forms, by showing support for hiring and retaining staff who are members of historically or otherwise underrepresented groups, and by providing support to all staff so we may work in an inclusive environment that is free of all forms of harassment, hostility, and violence.
Announcing the First All Staff Meeting
On June 17 at 1:00 the Hamline University Staff Association will host an all staff meeting in the Kay Fredericks room of the Klas center. Scheduled speakers include VP Kristen Ludgate, and the new Human Resources Director Dorcas Michaelson.
What Do You Want HUSA To Do?
We're working on action items for the 07 - 08 academic year - we've come up with a good list, but we'd love to hear what other staff are thinking, in terms of HUSA helping create and promote staff programs, professional development, etc.
Submit a comment form and let us know what you'd like to see for Hamline staff this year!
Meeting Dates: 2007 - 2008 Academic Year
