Hamline University Guest House

Welcome to Hamline University!

Our purpose is to create a positive environment on campus for visiting faculty, university guests, and faculty / staff candidates. 
Guests of administration, faculty or staff of Hamline University are welcome to stay at the Guest House on campus when sponsored by a Hamline department (Guest House is not handicap accessible).

Guest House Details
1538 Englewood Avenue, Hamline University’s Guest House, has three guest bedrooms with a shared bathroom on the upper level (not handicap accessible).  The main level has a living room, reading room, and dining room.  Guests are responsible for making their bed, including linen exchanges, which will be made available by the Coordinator.  Our ABM Services will coordinate daily light cleaning maintenance.  Trash removal is once a week.

Common Areas
Telephone, cable TV, and wireless internet are available for guest use.  The dining room has a microwave and refrigerator for snacks.  However, no cooking facilities are available.

Guest Eligibility
Guest eligibility is limited to visiting administration, faculty members, staff members, and faculty / staff candidates.  Only Hamline departments can reserve space for a guest.  Hamline University undergraduate students are not eligible.  Hamline Graduate and Law students need to be sponsored by Hamline departments.

Length of Stay
Stays can be reserved for as short as one night, on a monthly or semester basis, or as long as an academic year.  Reservations are accepted on a first-come first-served basis.

Check-In
The guest will receive a key to the house and their room during check-in.  Check-in can be arranged by a host receiving the key from the Guest House Coordinator, delivered to their office, or left for guest pick-up at the Sorin Front Desk. 

Meals
Guests can have meals arranged through Dining Services charged back to the department. Please indiciate the dollar amount to be placed on the conference meal card while filling out your reservation.  If the meal card is requested, it will accompany the keys and the guest will have access to all dining services on campus - Sorin Hall, Hamline Hopper (C-Store), Klas Cafe, Student Center HUB, and Law School Food Cart.

Check-Out
Upon checking out, guests would lock the main door and leave the keys at the Sorin Desk (across the street), or with the host sponsoring their stay.


Reservations
Please fill out the online form to request a room. Please give at least one week notice.  If the reservation is not canceled prior to check-in date, the charges will be applied for every day of no-notice.
