Where should I park?
Free parking is available in all Hamline University lots and on most area streets. The campus map shows the location of parking lots. There is handicapped parking available in all lots, permits not required.

CEREMONY INFO
Where will the ceremonies take place?
The ceremonies are held on Old Main Mall. The Bush Library steps act as the stage, and faculty and graduates are seated directly in front of the steps. There is additional seating to either side of the faculty and graduates. Bleachers are located behind the ground seating.

What is the Alternate Ceremony Site?
Commencement planners may need to make the decision to move the Commencement ceremonies to our alternate ceremony site. Graduates and families need to check the web site or 651-523-5555 the morning of Commencement, REGARDLESS OF CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, to determine if the ceremony has been moved. The Alternate Ceremony site is the St. Paul RiverCentre, Roy Wilkins Auditorium, downtown Saint Paul.
How long will the ceremonies last?
Each ceremony will last between 1 1/2 and 2 hours, with a reception to follow on the Klas Center Mall. **NOTE, there will be NO reception if the ceremonies are moved to the alternate ceremony site.

Is there assistance for graduates with special needs?
Yes. Please contact Elise Meger in the Disability Services office with this information, 651-523-2740 or send an e-mail to Elise.
May my guests take photographs?
Family and friends should follow the directions for picture taking found in the Commencement ceremonies program.
Hamline also works with Chappell Studios to take photographs of each graduate as they receive their diploma. Proofs of these photographs will be sent to the graduates and prints will be available to order. For more information on this service, visit the Chappell Web site at www.chappell.com.

When will I receive my diploma?
Diplomas for all graduates are scheduled to be mailed out in August. If students finish required courses during the summer, the diploma mail date will be later.

How do I know that my name will be pronounced correctly?
All graduates should attend Senior Day, where you will be able to indicate any special pronunciation for the ceremony. For more information on Senior Day, click here. If you are unable to attend Senior Day, contact the Registrar's Office at 651-523-3000 or send them an e-mail.
What is the Graduation Appreciation Program?
Graduates show their appreciation to those who have helped them through the years. This year's Commencement program will include a section for graduates to list those they wish to thank. The deadline for turning in your GAP information is Monday, April 28. Click here to submit your form.

Will Hamline send me information about Commencement?
Yes. Brochures have been sent to all graduates and the families of CLA students. If your address has changed or will be changing before March and you haven't contacted the Registrar's office with the information, e-mail them now, or call at 651-523-3000.

TICKETS
Do we need general seating tickets?
Tickets are not required (except for the “accessible seating” area -- see below), and there is no limit to the number of guests a graduate may invite.

Is there accessible seating available for guests?
Guests needing accessible seating may reserve tickets for the accessible seating area, which is toward the right front of the audience. There are a limited number of tickets available for this area. Each graduate is allowed up to four tickets. Call 651-523-2216 for more details or to reserve your tickets.

BACCALAUREATE
What is Baccalaureate?
Baccalaureate is a formal, multi-faith ceremony to bless our graduates as they leave Hamline University. The service is led by multi-faith clergy, and will feature faculty, staff and students. The ceremony will be held Friday, May 16, from 4:30 - 5:15 p.m. at Hamline United Methodist Church, 1514 Englewood Avenue. Caps and gowns are not worn for this event. All graduates and their families are encouraged to attend this special ceremony.

How do I order graduation announcements?Personalized or general announcements may be purchased at Senior Day, on Friday, March 7.
Personalized orders not done at Senior Day may be done online at the Herff Jones Web site or at 952-447-4449. Questions and concerns may be directed to Herff Jones, 952-447-4449.
General announcements are available in the University Bookstore. Contact the Bookstore for more information at 651-523-2270 or send an e-mail to the Bookstore.

How do I order my cap and gown?
Caps and gowns are required for participation in commencement.
All graduating CLA students should plan to attend this year's Senior Day, Friday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Law/Graduate Schools Building. You will be able to pick up and pay for your cap and gown at that event.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND SENIOR DAY, orders for caps and gowns should be placed with the Hamline University Bookstore, 651-523-2270 or visit their Web site. PLEASE NOTE: Our vendor, Herff-Jones, is no longer accepting online orders. You must order directly through the bookstore.
DEADLINE for orders is Thursday, May 1 to ensure prompt delivery. If you are ordering after May 1, you must contact the bookstore at 651-523-2270.
All orders not picked up at Senior Day will be shipped to the bookstore. Feel free to call ahead or e-mail the bookstore after May 5 to verify that your order has arrived. Following the ceremony, all of the regalia is yours to keep.
