Carolyn Korchik exhibits a strong presence of experience and savvy on the court.   Korchik has a great feel for the game as demonstrated by passing the 1,000-point barrier this past season ...In 2004-05, Korchik started all 24 games. She was second on the team in points per game (13.0) and third on the team in rebounds per contest (4.6). For her efforts, she was named All-MIAC honorable mention. She topped 10 points in 15 games with three games of 20 points or more. Korchik became the seventh player in Hamline women?s basketball history to reach 1,000 career points. She broke that barrier with a three-pointer against Bethel on Feb. 16. Korchik netted a career-high 33 points against St. Thomas on Dec. 6. In that game, Korchik tied the MIAC record for three-point shooting percentage in a game by going 7 of 7 from beyond the arc. Korchik was 6 of 9 from three-point range and tallied 23 points against St. Benedict on Feb. 12. She grabbed season-high 11 rebounds against Carleton on Dec. 4...In 2003-04, Korchik started all 25 games.  She led the team in points per game (14.0) and three pointers (44). Korchik was second on the team in rebounds (98).  She was named All-MIAC first team. Korchik led the Pipers in scoring in nine contests.  She reached double figures in scoring 19 times and topped 20 points in three games. Korchik scored a season-high 31 points on 11 of 19 shooting from the field, including 6 of 11 from three-point range in Hamline's 77-69 win over Augsburg on Jan. 7. Korchik tallied 20 points in a 71-69 win over St. Olaf on Jan. 19.  She scored 24 points in a 67-50 win over Macalester. She recorded 17 points and 12 rebounds versus St. Olaf on Feb. 21 - a 79-63 win for the Pipers...In 2002-03, Korchik started all 25 games.  She led the team in minutes played per game (32.4), points per game (14.3), and steals (44). Korchik was also second in assists per game (2.5) and third in rebounds per game (4.4).  For her performance, she was selected to the All-MIAC first team and chosen to the All-First Year team. Korchik led the Pipers in scoring in 13 contests.  Korchik scored in double figures 14 times and tallied 20 points or more on four occasions.  She totaled a season-high 26 points on 10 of 14 shooting from the field against Viterbo on Nov. 30. She led the Pipers with 22 points on 9 of 15 shooting in Hamline's 73-67 win over Bethel on Feb. 1. Korchik hit a half-court buzzer-beater to defeat Macalester 64-62 on Feb. 19...In high school, Korchik was an all-conference selection for one year in the Lake Conference and an all-conference honorable mention selection for two seasons.  She was also named her team's Most Valuable Player during her senior season and a four-time academic all-conference member...  Korchik is a management major.  She is the daughter of Bill and Ann Korchik.
