FY: Simmons was named MIAC Rookie of the year after she averaged 2.70 kills per game and 3.76 digs per game in 90 games played.  Simmons had double-digit kills in 13 matches and tallied a season high of 21 kills versus Luther College on Oct. 21.  She also had 18 kills against St. Thomas on Oct. 18.  Simmons recorded double-digit figures for digs in 18 of 25 matches played and reached a season-high of 27 versus Buena Vista on Sept. 2.  She also recorded 22 digs in three matches, the first versus Macalester on Sept. 23, the second versus St. Benedicts on Sept. 27, and the third on Oct. 18 against the Tommies.

In high school, Simmons was named All-State honorable mention during her senior season.  She was her team’s Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year in 2005.  Simmons is an international business major.  She is the daughter of Samuel and Terresa Simmons.
