Tina Cherland has a great work ethic. She is mentally tough and is very consistent. Cherland is a quiet leader on the court…In 2005, Cherland played in 99 games, posting 217 digs – third on the team. She was also third on the team with 36 service aces. Cherland had a season-high 19 digs in the Pipers’ five-game win over Augsburg on Oct. 26. Cherland reached double digits in digs in seven matches. She served five aces against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sept. 9…In 2004, Cherland was fourth on the team with 229 digs and fifth on the team with 34 services aces. She posted double digits in digs 11 times during the season, including a career-high 21 versus Viterbo on Oct. 23, 2004. Cherland added five aces against both Lawrence and UM-Morris on Sept. 4, 2004…In high school, Cherland was an all-conference and academic all-state selection as a senior.
