Jake Burgess has a deep commitment to the sport. His prototypical swimmer’s physique will enable him to excel at the MIAC level and beyond this season…In 2005-06, Burgess broke five Hamline school records. Burgess broke three individual records including the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 back. He recorded times of 21.79, 46.98, and 53.22, respectively. He also was a member of the 400 free relay and 200 medley relay which broke the previous record… In high school, Burgess was a three-time all-stater and five-time all-conference selection in the Classic Suburban Conference. He was selected his team’s MVP as a senior…Burgess’ major is undecided. He is the son of Al and Shelly Burgess.
