Following a second place finish in the 2008 MIAC tournament, three #3 seed Hamline University softball players were named to the 13-member all tournament team.

Pipers take second place in MIAC tournament
After shutting out Augsburg, 5-0, in the semifinal game at 11:00 a.m., the Pipers lost a 1-0 contest that came down to the last out in the championship game against first seed and third-ranked St. Thomas in the afternoon.

After upsetting #2 seed Gustavus, 3-0, in the opening round, the #3 seed Hamline University Pipers fell to #1 seed St. Thomas, 10-2 (6 innings), on the first day of the MIAC tournament.

Simple manufactured runs made the difference for the Hamline University Pipers, as they defeated visiting UW-Stout in non-conference play, 2-0 and 1-0, to close out the regular season.

Pipers' split puts them in the playoffs
On a day in which two Pipers earned MIAC athlete of the week honors, it only took one win against the College of St. Catherine Wildcats for the Hamline University softball team to clinch a spot in the 2008 MIAC playoffs. Hamline won the opener, 11-0 in five innings, before St. Catherine took the finale, 14-7.
