Tony Klappa has been a great leader for the distance and mid-distance events throughout his career. He will look to stay healthy in 2007,  and if he does so, will be fighting for more MIAC championships to add to his resume in the mid-distance events…Last season, Klappa has personal bests in the 800-meter (1:59.04), the 1500-meter (3:59.85), and a 3200-meter relay split of 1:58.60. He was also a member of the 3200-meter relay team that had the best team outdoor performance in that event (8:08.90). His individual personal bests in the 800-meter run and 1500-meter run also were the best outdoor performances by event…In 2005, Klappa won the mile at the MIAC indoors in 4:18.97 and breaking a 26-year old MIAC record in that event...In high school, Klappa was a three time all-conference performer in track from 2000-03. During this time he also was a two-time all section performer and all-state performer… Klappa is a biology major. He is the son of Steve and Sue Klappa.
