Jeff Hanger has all the tools to be an elite tight end on the league. He has showed flashes of brilliance, but fought off injuries last season…In 2005, Hanger played in six games. He was the team’s second-leading pass receiver with 18 receptions and 227 yards. He caught four passes for 70 yards in the season opener versus UM-Morris on Sept. 10…In 2004, Hanger played in 10 games. He was the team’s second-leading receiver with 33 catches for 366 yards. Hanger led the team with four receiving touchdowns. He caught scores in three straight games to open the season (UM-Morris, Gustavus, and Bethel). He caught five passes for 56 yards against Augsburg on Oct. 16 and four passes for 55 yards and a touchdown against Gustavus on Sept. 18…In 2003, Hanger was third on the Pipers’ with 171 yards receiving on just 11 receptions.  He caught two touchdowns, including a 50-yard score versus Concordia on Oct.  The 50-yard catch was also a career long.  He scored his first touchdown in his first career game versus Northwestern on Sept. 6…Hanger is also a member of the Hamline track and field team. Hanger is an exercise and sports science major.  He is the son of Dan and Sherri Hanger.
