2009 Hamline graduate Dan Kaczrowski (St. Anthony, Minn.) collected an honor and penned a contract this week as he was named All-Region and signed with the Saint Paul Saints of the American Association of independent professional baseball. A solo homerun by Tony Rogers (So., St. Michael, Minn.) in the first inning set the tone for the Hamline University baseball team as they defeated Carleton, 8-1, in the elimination game of the MIAC playoffs. They move on to play St. Olaf at 5:00 p.m at Dundas.

A steady sprinkle of rain starting in the fourth inning and three multi-run Ole innings dampened the first day of MIAC tournament play for the Pipers, as they fell to St. Olaf 11-3. Their second round game was postponed until Saturday.
