Before Starting Your Application

Make sure you know what the application deadlines and the required application materials are. Your application file will not be reviewed until we receive all supporting materials.
 

What Must Be Mailed With Your Application?

Your completed application form and supporting materials must be sent to the Hamline University Office of Graduate Admission. Supporting materials include:

    • Personal statement
    • Professional résumé
    • Writing sample
    • Application fee, in the form of check (payable to Hamline University) or money order
    • Official translations to English of all application materials originally issued in a language different from English. 
    • For international applicants, official transcripts and, if transcripts are in a language other than English, official or certified translations to English. (Personal copies are not accepted)
    • International applicants must also mail proof of financial support (with bank statements or other financial support documentation) for visa application purposes
    • Any other supplemental material you wish the admission committee to consider

What Must Be Mailed Separately?

    • Official transcripts, sent directly from the institution. (Personal copies are not accepted. You do not need to supply transcripts for courses taken at Hamline University)
    • Official or certified English translations for transcripts in languages other than English
    • For international applicants whose native language is not English, an official TOEFL score, sent directly from Educational Testing Service. (Results mailed to the applicant are not accepted)
    • Letters of recommendation, sent directly by recommenders

All materials must be sent to the Hamline University Office of Graduate Admission.
