Minnesota Science Teacher Education Project

Welcome to MnSTEP! Bringing convenient, relevant, standards-based summer science institutes to K-12 teachers throughout Minnesota!

Minnesota Teachers of Science:

This is what you’ve been waiting for! Convenient, no-cost, grade-appropriate, standards-based summer science workshops in all regions of the state. Topics include Earth Science, Biology/Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Inquiry and Assessment. Plus, no-cost programs to earn your teaching license in high school physics (PhASE Project) and high school chemistry (ChemCAL Project). The first two years of MnSTEP have been a tremendous success. Almost 600 teachers from across the state have participated!

All MnSTEP institutes include meals, stipend, teaching resources, and graduate credits from Hamline University -- all at NO COST to teachers!

MnSTEP is a statewide professional development program for teachers of science presented by Hamline University's School of Education through its Center for Global Environmental Education in partnership with five university science departments, six Minnesota school districts, MnSTA, MESTA, MGS, ACS-MN, with support from the 3M Foundation and funded by the federal No Child Left Behind Act, Title II, Part B, administered by the Minnesota Department of Education.
