Key elements of environmental education, policy, laws, literacy, history, philosophy, and underlying environmental debate, issues and problems are discussed.

Teaching as a critical, self-reflective and inquiry-based activity, collaboratively undertaken in diverse communities.

Knowledge 

The physical and biological processes and relationships that constitute ecosystems. Our world considered through dual lenses of natural and social systems.

Required: NSEE 8200 Ecological Systems: Biomes (A 6 day Camping Adventure with the Audubon Center of the North Woods in August) (3 cr.)

Research

Authentic forms of inquiry and investigative models in research.
