TO APPLY ONLINE:  You will need to create a Login ID of up to 9 alphanumeric characters and a six-digit PIN number. Please remember your ID and PIN, this will allow you to begin the application form, save it and finish at a later time.

You may also cut and paste the text for your application essay and résumé into the application form if you wish.

What can be submitted online:

    • Personal information (name, address, phone number, etc.).
    • Essay—Please submit a 500-word essay that describes your personal and professional philosophy of environmental education.
    • Résumé
    • You may choose to send your essay and résumé directly to the address below. If you do so, please note that in the appropriate section of the online application. 

What must be submitted separately:

    • Two letters of recommendation. Request these letters from people familiar with your academic and/or professional qualifications.
    • Official transcripts from your regionally accredited undergraduate degree-granting institution. Transcripts should be sent directly from the institution to the Office of Graduate Admission.  **You do not have to supply transcripts for coursework taken at Hamline University. 
    • Any supplemental materials you wish the admission committee to consider. 

Information for international students and students with degrees from non-U.S. institutions:

Applicants with a degree from a non-U.S. institution must submit official or certified-true academic records along with a credential evaluation from World Education Services, Inc. or Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. An explanation of the grading system should be submitted if it differs from the U.S. 4.0 system.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all applicants whose native language is not English. Please have your test score sent directly from the testing service to the address below. The Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) required to obtain a visa cannot be issued until Hamline has evidence of a score of 550 or better on the TOEFL (or a 5.0 on the TWE, or a passing PPST score), valid documentation of financial support for tuition costs and personal expenses, and written acceptance of Hamline's offer of admission.

International students should also refer to the Center for International Students and Scholars for additional information.
