Google Apps for Faculty
Hamline University provides Google Email accounts for admitted licensure and degree seeking students (admitted), powered by the full Google Apps Education Suite. This offers students access not only to contemporary email but the entire Google Apps Education Suite which includes tools like Google Docs to create and share files, Google Calendar for coordinating schedules, and Google Sites to create a personal web site.
Since this transition for students, ITS have also received numerous requests from faculty to support their access for Google Apps. ITS has researched and tested a method to offer faculty an opportunity to use Google Apps tools to collaborate with students while using GroupWise email, the official Hamline Email for faculty for Hamline-related correspondence.
