Adult Special Status
Apply. To apply for Adult Special status, students must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and must submit an Adult Special Application for Admission form, an official transcript and an application fee. MFA Adult Special students are asked to submit a writing sample.
Choose a course. Up to three courses may be taken on a space available basis. Classes listed as "MFA Only" are not eligible for Adult Special status. Browse GLS courses.
Note: Adult Special students are not considered degree-seeking and are not eligible for financial aid.
The next step: full admission. Adult Special students may choose to complete the full application process within twelve months for no additional application fee. However, the Program Fee must be paid with the first term's tuition as a degree-seeking student. Admission to Adult Special status does not guarantee full admission upon application.
Courses taken under Adult Special status count toward degree requirements provided that satisfactory grades are achieved. Adult Special students are expected to participate fully in the classroom experience.
