MALS Alumni Endowed Scholarship (MALS students)
This scholarship, made possible through alumni gifts, provides a merit award once a year to a student in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Program with demonstrated financial need. The award amount is $1,000.
To apply, please submit ten pages or less from work done in a current or recent class. A cover sheet should include your name, contact information, how far you are in the program, and your Hamline I.D. number.
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) also needs to be completed in order to be considered for the scholarship. The FAFSA should be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Materials must be submitted to the GLS office, attn: Anika Eide, between April 1st and May 1st, 2009. The recipient will be notified by letter, and the award will be applied to Fall 2009 tuition.
Richard P. Bailey Endowed Scholarship (MFA students)
This scholarship, named for former Hamline president Richard Bailey, assists a writer in the Master of Fine Arts in Writing program who has demonstrated financial need and excellent writing ability. The award amount is $1,000.
To apply, please submit fifteen pages of creative work from a current or recent class. A cover sheet should include your name, contact information, how far you are in the program, what genre you are working in, and your Hamline I.D. number.
