Course attributes are designations attached to courses and reflect either program requirements or registration restrictions.

Attributes are designed to clarify and ease the registration process by providing a quick-reference view of classes as they are designed to fulfill
curriculum requirements or to flag courses with restricted registration. Always check the course description for more information.

Common attributes:

MALS or MFA Required: Course fulfills a core curriculum requirement (MALS & MFA)

MALS or MFA Elective: Course fulfills an elective requirement (MALS & MFA)

Multidisciplinary: Course fulfills a MALS Multidisciplinary course requirement (may also be open to MFA students; look for MFA Elective attribute)

MFA Writing: Course fulfills an MFA Writing requirement (may also be open to MALS students; look for MALS Elective attribute)

MFA Only: Course only open to MFA students; also an MFA Writing designated course
