Alternate Ceremony Site and Ceremony Tickets
For all commencement ceremonies, Hutton Arena will serve as the alternate location should weather or safety be a concern:

General Seating: Tickets are not required for general seating and there is no limit to the number of guests a graduate may invite.
Accessible Seating Tickets: Students with guests needing accessible seating may reserve tickets for the accessible seating area. There are a limited number of tickets available for this area. Guests will be assisted in this area by our disability services office, as well as event staff members. NOTE: All undergraduate students must sign up for tickets online by March 4, 2014 to receive tickets. Tickets must be picked up at Senior Day (March 6 and 7, 2014). See "How to sign up for tickets" below.
Indoor Ceremony (Alternate Site)
General and Accessible Seating Tickets: Tickets are required for all seating in Hutton Arena. Every graduate may sign up for up to two tickets See "how to sign up for tickets" below. Only graduating senior students may sign up for these tickets. Ticketing will be enforced for this location; any guests without a ticket will not be admitted. Graduates and families must check the website or call 651-523-5555 the morning of Commencement to determine if the ceremony has been moved due to weather.
How to sign up for tickets
Undergraduate students will be able to register for alternate site tickets beginning Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Students MUST sign up by midnight on March 4, 2014. If a student fails to sign up for their tickets, those tickets will be placed in the ticket lottery and no longer available.

Ticket Lottery: If more than two tickets are desired, students who have completed their graduation requirements by February 18, 2014 may enter the ticket lottery. If you qualify to enter, you will receive lottery entry information via email the week of March 3.
A random drawing for any unused tickets will be conducted the week of March 17, 2014. Students who win the Commencement ticket lottery will be notified via email the week of March 17, 2014, including ticket pickup information for the following week. No more than two tickets can be requested via the ticket lottery process.
NOTE: Graduates who qualify for the ticket lottery should indicate on the ticket form in the ticket lottery section if an accessible ticket (for individuals in wheelchairs, motorized scooters, with walkers, crutches, etc.) is requested as a part of their lottery entry. If remaining accessible tickets are available and if the student is chosen in the lottery, the student will receive one accessible ticket and one companion ticket for special seating in Hutton Arena.
How do I know if I'm on track to graduate and able to enter the ticket lottery?
Only students who have completed their graduation requirements by February 18, 2014 will be eligible to enter the Commencement Ticket Lottery to be eligible to win 2 extra tickets to Commencement. Check your degree evaluation in Piperline to ensure all of your graduation requirements are being met.
Graduation requirements include:
1. Being registered for all of your classes
2. Formally declaring all of your majors and minors
3. Submitting all of your course substitution paperwork (if applicable)
Registration and Records is available to help you ensure you're on track to graduate. Drop in hours for degree evaluation are February 5-14, 2014, from 10 am - 12 pm and 2 pm - 4 pm, or by appointment. Registration and Records is located in East Hall.
Tickets will not be mailed. Graduating seniors must pick them up at Senior Day (March 6 and 7, 2014). Any tickets not picked up at Senior Day will be forfeited by the student and entered into the Commencement ticket lottery for eligible students to enter.
Students who complete their graduation requirements will be notified via email to complete their entry into the ticket lottery and will be notified of their lottery status via email by the end of March 2014.
It is the graduating student's responsibility to make sure that tickets are not lost or misplaced. Lost or misplaced tickets will not be reissued.
