    Congratulations from the President

Commencement is a day of celebration at Hamline University. It is the culmination of our students’ experiences here and of their extraordinary efforts in the pursuit of knowledge. It is our opportunity to recognize them for their years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, as well as the families, friends, and faculty and staff members who have supported and encouraged them to achieve their goals.

Our alumni often reflect on their years at Hamline as some of the most influential and important years of their lives. For many, it was here that they learned to think critically, to challenge their own beliefs, to respect and celebrate their unique talents, and to appreciate the differences between themselves and others. Hamline University will always hold a place in their hearts through fond memories of professors who challenged, enlightened and encouraged them, and classmates who became lifelong friends.

We are proud of our graduates and know they will do well. They have gained a solid foundation of knowledge, skills, and values that will serve them as they go forth from Hamline University to be successful and to make a difference in their communities. Hamline alumni serve in important leadership roles where they live and work, and we look forward to seeing our 2014 graduates make their own unique mark upon the world.

We hope you will join us at Hamline to celebrate this momentous occasion. Please take a moment to review the important information in this site. It will answer many of the questions you have about the Commencement ceremonies, traditions, and expectations. I look forward to sharing with you a memorable and meaningful Commencement day.
