Secondary Licenses: Mathematics
Mathematics majors pursuing a MN teaching license at the 5-12 level must complete the course requirements for a BA in Mathematics with the additional requirement of MATH 3560: Modern Geometry. Licensure also requires only one additional course above MATH 3000.
The required education and content courses for a MN 5-12 teaching license
in Mathematics are listed below. Please be aware that additional content courses are required for the Mathematics major. All teaching candidates are advised that
completion of the program within a four-year time frame requires careful
planning. Please seek early advising from the
School of Education to plan your program.
Students with conflicts between Student Teaching and Senior Seminar should contact the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program Chair and the Mathematics Department Chair.
NOTE: If you want to co-major in education and will not student teach prior to graduation, you need to take an additional six EDU credits.
