  • Initial Licensure Programs

    The Hamline approach models quality teacher education that is constructivist in design: previous learning and experiences are the foundations for mastering new learning. Courses are offered on-campus, online, and in blended formats to meet your learning needs.

    Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)/Initial Licensure /Teacher Education

    Prepares students for the initial teaching license. Qualified students may also earn credits toward the MAT degree.

    Undergraduate Teacher Education

    Current undergraduate students who wish to become licensed to teach pursue a co-major or minor in education and fulfill all other requirements for state licensure.

      The day the Class of 2013 has been working toward is just around the corner. Hamline undergraduate, graduate, and law students will gather to celebrate commencement with family, friends, faculty, and staff on May 17 and 18, 2013. The School of Law ceremony will be held on Friday, May 17 at 6 p.m.
    • School of Education Professor Naomi Rae Taylor contributed to the recently published book, Talking About Race: Alleviating the Fear. Taylor's chapter is titled, The Color of Our Skin, which highlights personal stories of talking about race with her children, graduate students, and with youth in the community.
