    Master of Arts in Teaching 

    Offered on campus.

    The MAT prepares students for the initial teaching license while earning a master’s degree. This program is ideal for working adults who want to enter a meaningful profession. For those who have undergraduate degrees and have decided they want to teach, this is the appropriate degree program.

    Master of Arts in Education

    Hamline's MAED is designed to help educators meet the challenges of today’s schools and society. At the heart of the curriculum is a set of guiding questions that stimulate thought-provoking discussion and professional growth.

    Master of Arts in Education: Natural Science and Environmental Education 

    Offered online.

    The MAED: NSEE helps students recognize and clarify their commitment to a sustainable world. Using community and service as the context, theory and practice are linked. Complex community issues require individuals be reflective about their environmental values and help others reflect as well.

    Master of Arts in English as a Second Language 

    Offered online or on campus.

    See and experience the world while being part of the exciting, rewarding field of ESL/EFL. A Master of Arts in English as a Second Language (MAESL) provides you with the skills needed to teach both in the U.S. and overseas.

    Master of Arts in Literacy Education 

    Offered online and on campus

    The School of Education's new Master of Arts in Literacy Education will provide a comprehensive, rigorous focus on literacy instruction and leadership.

    Administrative Licensure 

    Offered on campus.

    Become a principal, superintendent, or special education director with an administrative license from Hamline. A master's degree is required for admission to this program.
