How do I know which classes to register for and when they are offered?

list of courses, when they are offered, and additional descriptions can
be
found on the Hamline CourseSchedule or in Piperline.

How long do I have to complete the MALEd?
You
have seven years to complete the MALEd program. If you are unable to
complete the degree in seven years, you must submit a program extension
request to the Advanced Degrees and Administrative Licensure Department
Chair, Carol Mayer.
Can I take a combination of on-campus and online courses?
No. At this time you must be admitted to the on-campus or online learning community and continue with that delivery method throughout the program.
Where can I find course descriptions?
More
detailed course descriptions for core courses can be found in your MALEd Student Handbook. Shorter descriptions for all courses are also
located in Piperline.
Where can I find faculty and staff contact information?
Faculty and staff contact information can be accessed through Hamline’s online Directory.
Additional information about faculty and staff can be found in your MALEd Student Handbook and on the Faculty and Staff page in the MALEd current student portal.
I’m not sure if I have a faculty advisor or who my advisor is. How can I find out?
All
MALEd students are given a faculty advisor after they meet the advance to candidacy requirements. If you are unsure of who your faculty advisor is,
contact Mary Speranza-Reeder at msperanzareeder01@hamline.edu for clarification.
Capstone Questions:
For how long is my capstone registration active?
Your
registration for GED 8495: Capstone is active for two years. If the
capstone is not completed within two years of the term of registration,
the grade becomes withdraw (W) and you will be required to register
again, paying the current full tuition rate.
Where can I find an outline of all steps needed to fulfill the capstone requirement?
General
information about the capstone requirement can be found in your MALEd Student Handbook. More specific information, including a step-by-step
completion checklist can be found in the Capstone Completion Guide.
By when do I need to submit my capstone to graduate?
Capstone submission deadlines can be found in your MALEd Student Handbook on the Degree Completion Timeline.
Do I get a copy of my bound capstone?
If
you would like a bound copy of your capstone, we suggest going to a
copy service such as FedEx Office (formerly Kinko’s). Unfortunately, we
do not have the resources to bind individual capstones.
Degree Conferral Questions:
I’m almost ready to graduate, but I’m not sure what steps come next. Who can tell me?
First
review the Degree Completion Checklist in your MALEd Student Handbook. If you have additional questions, contact Mary Speranza-Reeder
at msperanzareeder01@hamline.edu.
When is the Intent to Graduate Form due?
Intent
to Graduate deadlines can be found in your MALEd Student Handbook on
the Degree Completion Checklist or Degree Completion Timeline.
What program completion date will appear on my transcript?
The
degree awarded date on your official transcript will reflect the date
of completion of all degree requirements including final capstone
submission.
When will I receive my diploma?
Hamline University Registration and Records
orders diplomas three times per year: in January, June, and September.
You will receive a postcard when your diploma has arrived at the
Registrar’s Office. You may pick it up at that time or have it mailed to
you. The date displayed on your diploma will reflect your term of
graduation.
How do I obtain an official transcript?
After
your capstone grade and degree-awarded status have been entered on your
transcript, you may order an official transcript through Piperline or the Registrar’s Office. More information can be found here.
