Mission: to foster environmental literacy and stewardship in citizens of all ages.
Since its founding in 1990, Hamline University's Center for Global Environmental Education (CGEE) has been a progressive, innovative pioneer helping students, teachers, and citizens worldwide become informed environmental stewards. The Center achieves its mission through extensive graduate education programs for formal and non-formal educators, innovative K-12 learning initiatives for students, award-winning multimedia storytelling for all audiences, and community outreach projects that cross disciplines to connect with diverse audiences worldwide.
CGEE is an integral part of the Hamline University School of Education, which serves more than 8,000 educators annually. The Center brings together faculty, educators, citizens, and a wide range of partner organizations committed to deepening understanding and engaging in thoughtful, effective environmental action. |
