Eco-Arcade at the Minnesota State Fair Eco Experience The Eco-Arcade Since 2006, the Center for Global Environmental Education (CGEE) has designed and coordinated an exhibit in the Eco Experience building at the Minnesota State Fair. The area provides a place where kids of all ages can come to learn and play. The exhibit focuses on things we do that cause nonpoint source water pollution....but in a really fun way. Some of the highlights include: The Storm Drain Goalie app Storm Drain Goalie Photo Booth - Stand in front of a giant rendition of a storm drain and put on goalie equipment (either hockey or soccer), including shields emblazoned with iconic pollution-prevention imaging, and tools like rakes and brooms to keep things out of the storm drain Storm Drain Goalie Air Hockey - air hockey with a twist Multimedia Water Program In partnership with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), CGEE helps provide another of its educational multimedia programs, “The Urban Water Cycle,” on a kiosk in the "Water" area of the Eco Experience building. The Eco Experience building The Eco Experience is a project of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), and it provides information and hands-on demonstrations of sustainable products and practices to Minnesota State Fair visitors. CGEE is one of the roughly 35 major partners in the building. Come visit us! The Eco Experience building is in the northeast quadrant of the fair, near the 4-H building. Look for the giant windmill blade out front.
