Eco Experience Kids Area at the Minnesota State Fair The Kids Area Since 2006, the Center for Global Environmental Education (CGEE) has designed and coordinated the Kids Area in the Eco Experience building at the Minnesota State Fair. The area provides a place where kids of all ages can come to learn and play. The Kids Area focuses on shrinking your "footprint" on the environment by changing the things you do that cause nonpoint source water pollution....but in a really fun way. Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., CGEE's ipad app, the Storm Drain Goalie, will be debuted. Kids and adults alike can: Try out the Storm Drain Goalie app Have their picture taken as a goalie Then post the photo on Facebook Kids can enjoy other activities in the Kids Area throughout the day, as well. Multimedia Water Program In partnership with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), CGEE helps provide another of its educational multimedia programs, “The Urban Water Cycle,” on a kiosk in the "Water" area of the Eco Experience building. The Eco Experience building The Eco Experience is a project of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), and it provides information and hands-on demonstrations of sustainable products and practices to Minnesota State Fair visitors. CGEE is one of the roughly 35 major partners in the building. Come visit us! The Eco Experience building is in the northeast quadrant of the fair, near the 4-H building.
