Online application procedures
To apply online, you will need to create a Login ID of up to 9 alphanumeric characters and a six-digit PIN number. Please remember to write down your ID and PIN as this will allow you to begin the application form, save it, and then finish at a later time. You may cut and paste the text for your application essay into the application form if you wish or you may choose to send it directly to the address below. If you do so, please note that in the appropriate section of the online application.
What can be submitted online?Personal information such as name, address, phone number, etc. and the application essay can all be submitted in the online application. More information on additional application materialsInformation for international studentsInternational students must submit documentation regarding proficiency in English and financial support for tuition costs and personal expenses. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all applicants whose native language is not English, unless they earned a masters degree from an accredited college or university in the United States. The Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) required to obtain a visa cannot be issued until Hamline has a student’s TOEFL results (with a score of 79 or better on the IBT version or 550 or better on the PBT version) and valid documentation of financial support. International students are required to obtain health insurance.Master's degrees
More information on additional application materialsInformation for international studentsAll international applicants must pay a $100 application fee. The application fee is accepted in the form of a bank draft (payable to Hamline University).International students who have not completed an undergraduate degree in the United States must submit documentation regarding proficiency in English and financial support for tuition costs and personal expenses. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of all applicants whose native language is not English. The Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) required to obtain a visa cannot be issued until Hamline has evidence of a TOEFL score of 79 or better on the IBT version or 550 or better on the PBT version (or a 5.0 on the TWE, or a passing PPST score), valid documentation of financial support, and written acceptance of Hamline’s offer of admission. Proof of health insurance coverage or purchase of Hamline's health insurance is required.In addition, applicants with foreign degrees must submit official or certified-true academic records, along with a credential evaluation from World Education Services or Educational Credential Evaluators. If transcripts are not in English, students must send their academic documents (transcripts and diploma) to an expert Academic Credential Evaluator in the United States for a course-by-course evaluation. An explanation of the grading system should be submitted if it differs from the U.S. 4.0 system.Administrative license
