• Administrative License Application Requirements

    Who May Enroll

Applicants must have a master's degree, hold a teaching license, and have three years of teaching experience (or satisfy MN Rule Chapter 3512.0700, subpart 4).

    How To Apply

Review the application checklist before completing your application. Note that official transcripts, letters of recommendation, and supplemental materials for international students must be sent separately to the Office of Graduate Admission.

A complete application for admission to Hamline’s Administrative Licensure program includes the following items:

    1. Online Application

Complete an online application. There is no application fee for online applications*, and your application status can be tracked online.

*All international applicants must pay a $100 application fee. The application fee is accepted in the form of a bank draft (payable to Hamline University).

    2. A copy of your state teaching license

    3. Current résumé or curriculum vitae

    4. Personal Statement

A one-page statement addressing the question “Why do you aspire to be an educational leader?”

    5. Official Transcripts
One official, sealed transcript of coursework from each regionally accredited college or university attended, sent directly from the institution to the Hamline University Office of Graduate Admission.

    6. Letters of Recommendation
We require three letters of recommendations, written by people familiar with your academic and/or professional history, detailing your specific qualifications to pursue advanced study, and sent directly to the Graduate Admission office. Letters from family members will not be accepted.

Strong preference is given to qualified applicants who complete the admission requirement at least six weeks prior to the start of the terms. Applicants will also be considered if they have completed the admissions requirements at least two weeks prior and space is available. International students have earlier deadlines.

    International Applicants

International applicants must also submit the materials listed in the international graduate student checklist. International applicants must submit all materials by the following dates:

    • Fall Term - Submit completed application file by June 1
    • Spring Term - Submit completed application file by October 1
    • Summer Term - Submit completed application file by February 1
