Welcome to online professional development through Learning Bridges

Choose from more than forty high-quality online professional development courses offered in a wide variety of topic areas from classroom management to literacy. Gain practical instructional strategies, learn current research, and renew your teaching practice. Graduate credits earned through Learning Bridges courses may be applied as electives toward a Hamline University Master of Arts in Education degree.

Learning Bridges courses are research-based, grounded in state and national standards, and facilitated by master teachers with extensive K-12 experience. The Learning Bridges learning environment is designed to be highly interactive and collaborative. A suite of virtual tools, including a conference center, helps students communicate and connect. Courses consistently follows the same format, eliciting prior knowledge, connecting content to brain research, multiple intelligences, and strategies for closing the achievement gap, and moving from guided practice through application.

All Learning Bridges courses are eight weeks in length and offered for two Hamline University graduate credits. New courses start at the beginning of each month.

The Learning Bridges System provides a comprehensive, systemic approach to the improvement of student achievement through research-based instruction. Based on five years of research and development (and representing the research of thousands of educational researchers over the last two decades), we present a research-based solution to improve academic achievement and close the gap in achievement for diverse learners – kids of poverty, kids of diverse cultures, and English language learners.
