NOTE: Inver Hills staff will be on hand throughout the morning to help participants who want to complete part (or all) of the Accuplacer test.

9:30-11:00 Accuplacer Math vs. GED: How can we prepare the students for the MnSCU entry test?
Andy Albee, Robbinsdale Adult Academic Program
Andy will present information about the Accuplacer math test. He will have copies of the MnSCU policy on Accuplacer. We will discuss the similarities and differences between GED and Accuplacer. He will show a demonstration of a new Accuplacer sample test that will be online soon from the state.

11:15-12:30 Transitioning ABE Students into Employment and Post-Secondary Education and Training: System Level Activities and Local Implications Anne Marie Leland, State Program Administrator, MN Dept of Employment & Economic Development (DEED)
Anne Marie will describe the current initiatives and partnerships taking place between Minnesota Department of Education - ABE Office, MN Department of Employment and Economic Development, the MN State Colleges and Universities System and other related state agencies. She will have the latest information on the MN FastTRAC (Training Resources and Credentialing) Initiative, the ABE Transitions to Post-Secondary Initiative, the Education Training Collaborative (ETC) grants, and the National Work Readiness Credential (NWRC) pilots. Participants will be engaged in discussion about local implications of these system activities.
