We’ve all attended great workshops, left with lots of energy and exciting teaching ideas, put those awesome materials on the shelf after returning to our offices and classrooms, and then…life gets busy and time goes by and those great ideas get lost in the busyness of our teaching lives.
Unfortunately, this happens more often than most of us would like to admit! As professional developers, we at ATLAS also know that the application of new knowledge and skills happens more effectively with professional development that moves beyond the one-shot workshop. Finding ways to make professional development sustainable and longer term is also an important component of the Minnesota ABE Professional Development System currently evolving in our work during the 2009-2010 year.
Earn 5 Implementation CEUs following the workshop!
To help facilitate a move toward longer-term professional development (PD) and to get those materials and ideas off your shelf and into the classroom, ATLAS will offer an additional 5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for work done as a follow-up to any ABE-sponsored PD event focused on classroom instruction. The link below contains the syllabus and procedures to earn those 5 CEUs.
Please contact Kimberly Johnson, ATLAS Director, with any questions about this exciting opportunity for professional growth!
