The Center for Second Languages Teaching and Learning is pleased to offer a Master of Arts in English as a Second Language. MAESL graduates are ESL teachers/leaders who understand systems of language, the language-culture relationship, how these affect learning, and integrating technology into instruction.

The Hamline MAESL makes teacher education in English as a second language relevant and convenient. Coursework is taught by active professionals with a keen understanding of the specialized field. All classes are held in the evenings, weekends, or online, and courses are taught year round. Summer students who are unable to commute to the campus may be able to be housed in a campus residence hall.
