Piper Passages

Fall TRANSFERmation Orientation 2009
September 6 and September 8

Piper Passages (Fall TRANSFERmation Orientation) is the second required two-day orientation program for all transfer students to address your needs in becoming a successful Hamline student. On Sunday, September 6, you will begin your formal orientation program to Hamline at 9:30 a.m. The program will run until 5 p.m. and includes sessions about student services, financial aid, life on campus as a commuter or residential student. In addition, you will have opportunities to connect with other new transfer students. On Tuesday, September 8, you will begin the second part of orientation at 9:30 a.m. You will learn about Hamline policies and procedures, meet your faculty advisor, and learn about the role of faculty members as your academic advisors, and learn more about the essential Hamline Plan.

Throughout Piper Passages, you will meet in your transfer student groups, led by your New Student Mentor (NSM). Your NSM is a person you can rely on to answer your questions, help with issues or concerns and direct you to where you need to go.

Classes begin on September 9, but social activities will continue throughout the week as a “welcome back” to all students.
