Piper Passages is the second required orientation program for all first year students. On September 6, students who plan on living in the residence halls will move in; commuter students will have a Commuter Student Pre-Orientation Program, and parents and family members will also partake in a variety of orientation sessions.
Being Piper Passages is a mandatory program, we ask you to make sure you have September 6, 7, and 8 free of any other activities or obligations. Please arrange your schedule to accomodate this request.
Throughout Piper Passages, you will meet in your First Year Seminar (FYSem) group, led by your faculty advisor and your New Student Mentor (NSM). Your NSM will lead your FYSem throughout the week to the various sessions, programs, and events that occur. Your NSM is also a person you can rely on to answer your questions, help with issues or concerns and direct you to where you need to go. Also, there will be tons of social opportunities to meet other Hamline students. Classes begin on September 9, but social activities will continue throughout the week as a “welcome back” to all students.
You will receive more information about Piper Passages via mail and email. Mark your calendars for September 6-8!
